So I live in one of those apartment towers in Downtown Dubai where the parking is all underground and shared, and lately I’ve noticed my car has been a bit more hesitant to start on mornings after it’s been sitting for a couple days, which is confusing because I always assumed underground parking would actually be better for the battery since it’s out of direct sun compared to cars parked outside all day, but a guy at the valet desk mentioned that cars sitting in basement parking for long stretches without being driven regularly can still lose charge just from general electrical drain, things like alarm systems or infotainment modules slowly pulling power even when the car’s off, which honestly I never really thought about before, and since I work fairly long hours and sometimes go two or three days without actually driving because I just walk to nearby places or take the metro, I’m wondering if that’s slowly wearing my battery down without me realizing it, so I started looking into whether a charger would actually help with this kind of situation even though my car isn’t sitting outside in direct heat, and that’s how I came across a leading Varta battery charger guide for Downtown Dubai motorists, which actually made a good point about how battery drain isn’t just a heat related issue but also a usage pattern issue, meaning even in a covered garage a battery can slowly weaken if it’s not getting proper charging cycles from regular driving, does anyone else living in a similar high rise setup with underground parking deal with this same kind of slow drain, and if so did adding a charger actually make a noticeable difference for you, also is it worth getting one that you manually connect occasionally or is it better to have something that stays connected long term without needing to think about it constantly, because with my schedule I don’t always remember to do things like that consistently, and I’d rather have something low maintenance that just handles it in the background, I guess I assumed for a while that underground parking basically solved most battery related issues here, but now I’m starting to think that assumption was maybe a bit too simple, so if anyone’s dealt with something similar living in a building with shared covered parking and infrequent driving, I’d like to hear how you approached it before my battery ends up dying on me at the worst possible time like these things always seem to happen.
