I’m writing this in a bit of a panic because my car very nearly left me stranded at the petrol station this morning and I’ve realised I can’t keep putting this off any longer. It’s a 2016 Honda Accord and the battery has been weakening for weeks, slow cranking, dim lights when idling, the usual warning signs I stupidly ignored. Now I’m stuck because I need to get this sorted in the next day or two and I don’t know where to go. I live in Al Kifaf so finding a 70Ah battery shop in Al Kifaf would be ideal, something close enough that I can drop the car off and walk home or wait nearby rather than sitting in some random garage for hours. The problem is I’ve walked past a few places in the area but they all look a bit sketchy, no proper branding, batteries stacked outside in the heat, that kind of thing. I’m not an expert but even I know batteries shouldn’t be sitting in direct sunlight for months on end. What I want is somewhere that sells genuine branded batteries, preferably Amaron since that’s what everyone recommends for this climate, and ideally somewhere that won’t charge me an arm and a leg just because I’m a woman who clearly doesn’t know much about cars. I’ve had that experience before where the price suddenly doubles because they think you’re an easy target. Has anyone here bought a 70Ah battery from somewhere in Al Kifaf and actually been treated fairly? I’d love to hear some real experiences, especially about pricing and whether they did a proper job with the installation. Any suggestions would be genuinely appreciated because I need to get this done before the car dies completely.
