That happened to me recently with my Infiniti, and now I am not sure if I should be worried or just keep driving normally. The light came on while I was sitting in traffic, stayed there for maybe ten minutes, and then disappeared after I restarted the car later that evening. The car feels completely normal when I drive it, which is probably why I am tempted to ignore it, but I know that warning lights usually appear for a reason. I do not want to wait until the same problem becomes more serious just because the dashboard looks normal again. I have checked the basic things I can check myself, but nothing seems unusual. There are no strange noises, no noticeable loss of power, and the temperature looks normal. Still, I keep thinking about what caused the warning in the first place. I recently moved around the ICAD area, so I am also not familiar with the workshops nearby. My old mechanic was quite a distance away, and taking the car there for every small issue is not very practical anymore. I started looking around for options and came across the phrase check this out while searching for local Infiniti service information, but I would rather get some advice from people who actually own these cars. If a warning light disappears by itself, would you still take the car in for a diagnostic scan? I am especially curious because some faults may only show up in the computer history even when the warning is no longer active. I would hate to go to a workshop and have someone tell me there is nothing wrong simply because the light is off when I arrive. At the same time, I do not want to spend money on a full inspection for something that might have been a temporary sensor issue. How do you normally decide where that line is? I have also heard different opinions about independent workshops compared with dealerships. Some people say a specialist workshop can handle these cars perfectly well, while others prefer the dealership because they believe the diagnostic equipment and service records are better. For me, the most important thing would be getting a clear explanation of what happened instead of simply clearing the code. If the mechanic finds a stored fault, I would want to know whether it is something that needs immediate repair or something that can be monitored for a while. Has anyone here had a similar situation with an Infiniti in or around ICAD? Did the warning eventually return, or was it something minor that never happened again? I am trying to make a sensible decision before ignoring something that could become expensive later, so I would really like to hear how other owners handled it.
